Experience in Elite Sport

Since Dr Glen Rae qualified as a medical doctor at the University of Leeds he has worked within professional football since 2001. He was appointed by Roy Keane, as the first full time Sports Medicine Doctor and Head of the Medical Department at Sunderland AFC in 2008.

He works within a range of professional sports including as Medical Officer for Durham County Cricket Club and jockeys within professional horse racing as well as a number of other amateur sports.

He has worked with the FIFA World Cup winning England U20 football team.

Alongside professional athletes he works with amateur and non-athletic patients, across the North East of England.
